Day 7: Astrological Samhain ends other plans
Today is astrological Samhain, the day I normally celebrate. But not this year. After starting my new life on the road on November 1, and then two Samhain rituals, and the cold and the rain, I just lit a candle. But in keeping with Samhain being the end, another plan died. Tomorrow I stay at the only campground open in this area and a farm to stay at Saturday. Both are shorter drives. After that, things change dramatically. Again. Of course. Because I made plans that made the gods and goddesses laugh. The woman who sold me the bus is having a procedure done the day I was scheduled to arrive next week … so that visit has been put off until she’s stronger. I will start trying to take a more costal route to South Carolina. More miles, but I’m hoping to see the ocean and get somewhat warmer temps than I am inland. It’s freezing everywhere around here … which was not what I expected. Nights in the 20s have me worried about my water lines freezing, so wrapping them in the warmth from Bast, Ra, Helios and all others who come to mind. Waiting to do a tarot reading for my host before settling in. On the mundane side, the left front blinker got replaced, but part of the hood was cracked in the process … which Jerry repaired well, making it about 26 hours I spent at that garage. Today’s 110 mile drive was almost all in the rain. Passed so much beautiful countryside. Lots and lots of farms and farm stands, I had to stop at one. Here now in High Bridge NJ … and so excited because for the first time since I left my West Hartford CT condo in May, I was able to order food for delivery!! From Lenny’s. I went a bit overboard, but now I won’t have to cook much for a day or two. Washed it down with some of a bottle of wine – a parting gift from a sister witch. Some left for the leftovers!
