Day 46: Savannah
A couple of wrong turns, or more correctly, no turns where there was supposed to be turns, and a big bridge that snuck up on me, and I’ve made it to a driveway in Savannah – a city I will be in for five nights. Temps got up in the high 70s (and hotter yet on the bus) and tonight humidity is reaching 93% as temps fall to 63. It is zapping my energy Thunderstorms are forecast for tomorrow and then it cools back down, so I’ll leave on the flannel sheets and try to survive without the A/C … which requires me to lift the bed, take out all parts for venting the unit and then setting it up in the driver’s window more securely than I have in the past … because last time I used it, Pye was not with me and he has nothing better to do than find ways to get out. I have lots of reading and writing to do for PaganPages, so that’s my plan for the rest of my waking hours. With some work avoidance techniques thrown in, I’m sure. The sun has just set and if I stretch out on the bed to read, I will probably end up falling asleep due to the heat and only six and a half hours sleep last night.
