DAY 250: All Alone

I have an entire campground to myself, or so it seems based on a lack of camper lights. The stars are out. It’s quiet and the temperature is quickly dropping into the 40s.

I drove about 120 miles to get here, nearly half of it on one route, giving me more time to look at the farms, mountains, rivers, trees, cozy little towns and abandoned properties. I must have pulled over at least a dozen times to let vehicles pass me. The signs warning “dip ahead” were always correct, and I could hear objects rearranging themselves behind me. It wasn’t until I turned a corner to come upon a long line of stopped cars and had to brake hard that stuff really flew. Pyewacket was safe curled up in the clothes closet. The items next to me by the driver’s window were not so lucky. One of the good things about living in 140 square feet of space is it doesn’t take too long to put it back together … as long as I have a box or two to catch items yet to acquire a permanent space.

Tuesday late afternoon and Wednesday morning I will be within an hour of both The Loving Piece New Age Shop in Easton and Kindred Spirit Books, and Gifts in Hellertown. If you’re around those parts, we can attempt to meet up and socially distance.
