Day 135: Getting Colder

The roads are getting tougher to navigate and the temperatures are dropping, but I’m excited to be headed to a witchy Ostara weekend retreat in Woodstock, CT.
There’s that famous painting of George Washington crossing the Delaware. I was born on his birthday, and for the second time on my journey, my GPS has taken me to a bridge over the Delaware I cannot cross because the bus is tons too heavy. And no, I didn’t see the weight warning signs a few turns back because I was too focused on keeping my bus in my lane on the hills with twists and turns and no shoulder … so again I was forced to turn around and take a road wisely not traveled by many others … a scenic route along the Delaware River to a town with a bridge I could cross. What do you want to bet the same thing happens next time I head south?

Lots of magic today, starting with moonlight on my pillow in the early morning hours, water for the tank under the bed, a station with diesel fuel when I needed it, drivers letting me merge, places to pull over and let vehicles pass, green lights, nothing breaking as more items slid around on those Pennsylvania roads I have come to dislike, someone driving slower than me, a host who drove out to lead me into the field I am parked in tonight, a bullfrog’s song from the brook in front of my bus, finding everything I needed stored under my bed, places to stay the coming week, a tasty meal from what little was left in the fridge ...

Now, just for 20 more degrees of warmth, please.
