Day 141: "Watching the River Flow"
Last night’s solitary Ostara ritual let me with more to process. The weekend witch retreat imploded because of the virus and the ripples it is sending out, but a very small number of us will gather tomorrow for a few hours in sacred space … with food.
I am parked in a sister’s driveway in Cromwell, CT for at least the immediate future; she has opened her home and offered me her car. Another sister who lives in town picked me up and took me to some of her favorite spots to sit by the Connecticut River. I had seen the many photos she’s posted, but there was nothing like being there in person, just watching the water pass by on its way to the ocean, taking my cares with it. For a few minutes, the sun out and got diamonds to dance on the water.
As witches can tell you, the Down By The River Ritual includes picking up litter.
I intended to write more, but I feel like I’m in the pause before a storm that changes life as I’ve know it. May we all weather it well.
