Day 125: What Dream?

I’m huddled in layers dreaming of livin’ the dream. Two days of rain with more tomorrow means my solar panels are not charging the batteries, so I am eating cold food, using only solar and battery lights, not even turning on the diesel heater because it draws some electricity. I am at a truck stop and so want to ask a trucker if I can plug into their generator, but I’m too tired and feeling shy. And cold. And tired. I’ve turned off everything, including my refrigerator and cpap machine. My phone is charged and the computer has 72% left. I will push through until I drive 140 miles to a camp in North Carolina can plug in tomorrow about 5pm. The hand warmers and space blanket are in use. I am that kind of cold that goes to your bones. I answered emails and did tarot readings until the friend I stopped to see got out of work and took me out to eat. I am making myself crazy by looking at the weather I will encounter as I drive north. Dropping temps and no sun, and right now, no campgrounds or boondocking hosts along my most direct route, giving me no place to plug in. This is why everyone told me to get a generator. I just knew I didn’t want to deal with one. But now I don’t exactly want to deal with this, either. And to think, yesterday I gave away my My Buddy heater and three cans of fuel because I was never going to need them again …
