Day 226: Five Days, Short & Sweet

Since landing at what was the Milton Flea Market at the big red barn – that is no longer a flea market – I have been more busy than usual, leaving little time for disappointment because I quickly realized I was not led here for the flea market, but to be close to others. I visited two metaphysical / witchy shops. After an afternoon of bonding at Practical Magick, Stacey Sweet will be offering her customers a coupon for a free reading with me when they purchase a grab bag, or whatever condition she chooses. I look forward to doing more tarot readings. Especially after Friday, when I was recruited for a two-hour gig on Zoom for Adam Latin … giving students readings. I was nervous to start, but then found myself getting impatient for the next person to sign in. It felt so good to offer information and details that made sense and that they found useful. I would call it my first professional tarot gig, and I am ready for more. Before Covid, I was hoping to vend at pagan festivals, concert venues … pretty much anyplace I could hang a sign and put out a donation box.

During my four nights here, I also spent time with new friends – a daughter and her mother who have been following my travels – and, who it turns out, were old friends I’d met more than 10 years ago through a mutual friend. There was a dinner; an afternoon drinking coffee, talking and weeding; and another night of visiting.

I will now offer a two things that had friends laughing their asses off. The first was the used book “What Is Karma” that I almost purchased as a gift for my skoolie, but was getting overheated and just wanted to escape back to the breezes outdoors. Is it really that crazy to buy a book about Karma for Karma?
The other was the three times in two days the sink and shower stall both had standing water. I bailed some, snaked, borrowed a plunger from my host, and boiled water. When I’d plug the sink, there would be a geyser coming up in the shower, getting the floor wet. When I plunged the shower, Old Faithful erupted in the sink, on the counter and the floor. The trick seemed to be – and I don’t understand why – to drain 2-4 gallons of gray water out of my gravity fed line. It must’ve released a bubble or something, but the sink and shower then drained, leaving slime behind that got boiling water poured on it. The tank was not even 1/4 full, so it couldn’t have been backing up for that reason.

On this trip I also planned my next one … four days with another witch on wheels, sister, coven member and dear friend to SE NH. (She came to see me in Florida when I was stuck at the garage, Do you remember the massage table in the park? And the burger review?) Still waiting for confirmation about where we will be spending our last night.

Oh, and I now have two men offering to help me figure out my solar issue on that trip. I just need to do some work first, that I fully intended to do on this trip.

Sunday I pack to go home. See more photos on my FB page.
