September 16: Packing Up
Four loads of laundry, filling water jugs, finding room for more books, making the bed, stocking up on supplies and plotting my route to get ready to head south tomorrow. I still have about two hours of work to finalize everything before heading out. I can tell it’s time because trees are turning red and three cords of wood are stacked in the basement, bags of pellets are piled under the stairs, and last night it got down to 36 … and my diesel heater refused to work. Posting videos on a skoolie site to see if I can get some help.
The best going away gift was this bouquet of flowers from Logan at Dances With Dirt Flower Farm just down the road from me. All summer I have been buying bouquets set out in mason jars on a table up by the road. Today I got to pick my own!
