DAY 532: Worth the Drive!

Things I saw along my 160 miles of back roads from Spotsylvania, Virginia to Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina where I have a lakefront spot. In no particular order:
> Roads with sharp curves and no arrow signs to warn you
> Five (or six?) flags flying on one pole
> Falling leaves
> Grand entrances to landscaped properties with long driveways and ponds where the dwellings are so far back you can’t see them from the road
> Horses
> Trees arching over spans of roadway
> Two tag sales I wish I could have stopped at
> A dead deer
> Churches
> Cotton fields
> Vehicles passing me in a no-passing zone
> Roads becoming more straight and flat
> Beautiful clouds
> Seemingly new blacktop with huge chunks crumbling in the right side of my lane (There was no shoulder, and nowhere to go when a semi went flying past me in the other direction. I screamed.)
> A large sign proclaiming “Trump 2024 Take America Back”
> Confederate flags
> A two-car accident
> Large, inflatable Santas
> Some sparsely stocked shelves in Walmart (where I tried on sun glasses and ended up getting none).
> Packs of hunters
> Farmers on huge machines in their fields
> A dog with it’s tongue hanging out running down the middle of the lane going in the other direction
> Fields of collard greens
> A main street in that looked as if 80% of building were vacant. (I’m trying to figure out where it was.)
