DAY 424, Part II: Love's

126 miles down, 976 to go. It took more than four hours, but that was with a few short stops along the way. I am now at Love’s Travel Center in Yemassee where we are having a tremendous thunderstorm. It seems to be a full house, so I’m glad I got here around five. I had hoped to rest up and push on another 40 miles or so before dark to make tomorrow’s drive shorter, but that was not to be.

I’m posting some photos from today…. and the moon from last night. Then I am off to bed early to the rain and the trucks until I fall asleep.

Turns out I will have to post this Monday when I can get to free WiFi. Can’t seem to turn my phone into a hotspot and too fried to even call Verizon. In the past hour, a second row of trucks have double parked me in, and their generators are running … and they are a bit loud. Of course, I don’t have ear plugs and I have no idea where my ear buds are – probably back in New Hampshire … I’ve never used them.

I might have to rethink truck stops, even if they keep me closest to my most direct route, have the safety of cameras everywhere and 24-hour food.
