DAY 400: Construction Chaos (3/4/21)

Today is my 400th day on the bus. In four days it will be two years since I retired, then moved up to New Hampshire and began bus life. I actually had to look up the date, sure three years had passed.

This is what life on Karma was like yesterday, today, and will probably continue through the weekend before everything is painted and put back in place. The bench is gone and its three drawers stacked up to the height of the windows in a new frame from the old wood. There will be room for a comfortable chair on either side. Granted, not a large wingback or full sized recliner, and no doubt not a beloved hammock chair … but hopefully something that blends unconventional with comfort.

In moving stuff around, I pivoted once when my knee didn’t. I have limped for two days. Or, more correctly, I did not walk yesterday and today I limped … to the shower, the garbage cans and a gathering around the fire. Tomorrow I get to go to Home Depot to buy paint and storage containers. Pain could lure me into a walk-in clinic for an X-ray. Home Goods could entice me to look for a chair. Publix will definitely get me in to restock around what’s in the refrigerator.

I did one last reading today – and several the last few days – for individuals with whom I did not connect during skoolie week. I am so looking forward to pagan festivals beginning again. I’d like to be a reader. From the time I began working with my first tarot deck, constantly referring to the book, I have wanted to read cards professionally. And I have, once. I imagine those slots go to long-standing vendors, so my backup plan is to have people come on the bus to make intention candles. It’s all part of the dream.
