DAY 401: "I said, 'Now I've got my Magic Bus.'"

These past three days, with five or so to come, have been an uproar. I keep checking in because “as within, so without,” and I am not aware of feeling anything like what this bus looks like. Still, everywhere I look, I see magic.

Out my back window are trees and bushes. When I use the composting toilet, I often hit my head on the three bells hanging there. The flowers look as vibrant as they did when they arrived from Trader Joe’s three days ago. There’s the scent of freshly cut wood in the air. A string of beads glow in the sunlight. Objects too special to leave behind hang with the curtains … making for one of my most magical decisions when it came to being wild and crazy. So much energy in the sarongs and scarves from sisters, so many memories in the momentos. My crone staff beside my monkey print, my blue-and-white beach vibe in the bedroom, the miniature African violet my father gave me that has turned into two plants, the  broom above the windshield made from a single piece of wood. All hold magic. As do the three glass containers on the top shelf of the bookcase: the spell bottle that came with the bus, and two pieces (plus one not in the photo) that the witch I bought it from had purchased for the bus that was going to be hers. I also have a beautiful woven satchel with a plastic liner she planned to use for shower paraphernalia that she said had to come with the bus. These things make my heart leap each time I see them. So does just about everything in this bus, from towels to tea and candles to canning jars. The paint I purchased today so the new pieces match the old, is made by Behr and there’s bear in the logo. The paint color is Polar Bear, which is also a totem animal that’s been with me my entire life. More magic.

It’s everywhere I look. Even among the mess where I found the ring I thought I’d lost and a jar of homemade liqueur I thought I’d consumed.

Soon there will be a place for everything and everything will be in its place, but until then, I’ll be spending more time in the in-between, marveling at the magic.
