September 10: Winding Roads

Today I drove to Littleton, NH to visit Isaac at Deep Earth Arts – a metaphysical store, apothecary, and studio. I did an interview for my next Witch Hunt, sold my turkey claws and wings, and purchased the Everyday Witch tarot, a Flower of Jericho, and some nag champa rope incense. I forced myself to pass on the flying ointment, pottery mugs with tarot cards on them, rattles, a few other tarot decks, statues, books, gems, and all manner of other things, big and small.

I took back roads going there, winding through the small towns among the White Mountains. And nowhere was there cell reception, so I had no help from map apps. I was pretty much going on a fading memory of looking at the route a few days ago. Sure enough, when I got cell service, I checked and learned I missed a turn and had to double back eleven miles, or take the highway. I doubled back and was given a surprising gift of views. I thought the ones I saw heading east were beautiful, but the ones heading west were even more spectacular. I laughed at how the universe was able to be sure I didn’t miss it. My heart opened and I felt loved. I mean, heck, if the universe had time to care about such a seemingly small detail in my life, then I really didn’t have anything to worry about. Love, relief, peace, comfort … all coursed through me. My heart still feels open, not quite as wide as when I was among the forests and mountains, but more than when I left home this morning.

As soon as I open the Secret Woods cards and guide by Kelly Patton, and write my review, I will treat myself and open my new tarot deck. But before any of that, I will be hitting as many tag sales in a town wide event just twenty miles from here. I need a good night’s sleep. Sweet dreams.
