DAY 582: Lots of Walking
Today I woke up and decided to repaint my purple shoes that were peeling and splitting at one of the seams. I have another few layers to go. I left them to dry in the sun as I left The Farm (that looks more like a grove) and went to the flea market in Homosassa. Well, more like about 1/3 of it. I had to park waaaaaaay in the back and never made it to the buildings in the front. I did get three things I asked the universe to provide (needles, twine, hair clips) and found a fourth, tarot cards, but they were all new and priced like a store. I didn’t find bells to finish making protection charms, but couldn’t resist gemstones. I did find a woman (and I so wish I thought to get her card) making wonderful pictures with rocks.
I then drove out to Big Grass Island — which I may have confused with Fort Island Beach — where I walked and walked. The sand was soft and white, the water was comfortable enough for swimming but I had no desire to put on a bathing suit or get my dress wet. The breeze was constant. I met a van dweller and we looked at each other’s vehicles. I stayed until sunset before driving to a parking lot at a lake about 20 miles away. It’s completely dark out. I think the vehicles at the other end have left. No stars. No moon. But there are wind gusts rocking the bus and blowing my curtains. I’m parked facing east and set my alarm so I can enjoy the sunrise before going back to sleep. Tomorrow I will try to find more beaches, and maybe a post office, a UPS drop, and a laundromat … and maybe look at my long to do list that I copied into my 2022 datebook today, along with new moons, full moons, and four periods of Mercury retrograde. Next are the astrological dates for the cross quarters.
Blessed new moon in Capricorn. May the new year bring you new sources of joy and wonderment.
