DAY 813: Heading South
I am now at a Walmart plaza in Maryland. First I drove past the boat launch and ended up in a tiny parking lot with trails to the water. Doubling back, I found the boat launch, with signs indicating it closes at sunset, after I read it’s open 24 hours. So here I am.
Today’s theme seemed to be farms with silos and dried corn still standing in fields. Sometimes there were cows or a few horses. Other times there was a cover crop. All the flowers the frost killed back in New England are in full bloom here. Pink petunias and mums are particularly lush.
Darkness is setting in and I need to dig through boxes to come up with my bottles so I can make more potions for the hippie fest. I’m working with alcohol, food coloring, and mica powder so that when you shake it up, it’s one color, and after you let it set a long while, it changes back to the food coloring. Well, in theory. The gold and black bottle cannot follow directions. After I this, I move on to mermaid tears. Then I need to figure out what labels I want from the bazillions I downloaded, some free … and then get help from HP to sync the printer with the new hotspot so I can actually print them. I also have paperwork to fill out, and information to research. Staying in my Zen mode will be tonight’s challenge. And to NOT be wide awake at 3:30 or 4am as I have been the last three nights.
