The Witch on Wheels

DAY 842: Around the World

This is the first time I have come to the skoolie homestead in Georgia and found a circle of witches in skoolies. On four hours sleep, I had an adventure with one of them today. First we went to Cole's mechanic and were entertained for an hour by the many facets of masculinity, a friendly receptionist, and a woman we both knew would be a successful dominatrix. Her cheeks got red when we told her.
Next we went to Ludowici Koffee Kafe where the owner showed us his French bistro room, a door made from repurposed chicken coop wood, vintage finds, and where the new kitchen will be. Cole and I shared a Southern breakfast plate and a Southern lunch platter, and met members of a family from Guam.
Close by was a thrift store, but it was closed. Trying to exit the parking lot without jumping a curb, we came face-to-face with a purple house that appeared on one hand to be deserted, and on the other to be a gift shop. I had to get photos. We met the woman embroidering in the second room who told us her mom was in the quilt shop next door. We were escorted and serenaded by dozens and dozens of ducks and chickens, and a few roosters.
Inside an inviting yellow house we met Karin Dasher putting the finishing touches on her latest quilt, a turkey. She is from Germany. While we watched, fascinated, at how she was manually operating what had been a computerized machine until the programs stopped running. We saw some of her completed projects, a picture from her last trip home, and the flyer for her upcoming event, Christkindlesmarkt at Kadee's Korner in Ludowich on December 3. There's a chance Sha Gi would vend there.
We left with a dozen fresh eggs, both chicken and duck.
