DAY 875: Time Flies

Since leaving Jesup, I have been busy driving, making cards, taking care of business, and spending days and nights with my friend, Jennifer. I met her back on Day 67 when I limped into a truck facility with a blown transmission, and she pulled her 53-foot rig in behind me. We bonded during her lunch break as we both waited to have our rigs assessed. She’d come by the garage often over the next six weeks, sometimes taking me out to eat, or to the travel station for a shower. There, I fell in love with their fudge, and a couple of times I woke up to see a little box of fudge on my hood - she was passing by but knew I was sleeping. We’ve kept in touch these last 808 days and always enjoy the time we get to spend together.

Today it was to see an ancient Fairchild Oak in Nulow Creek State Park, then on to Flagler Beach. Hurricanes had washed away tons of sand, and the strip I had stayed along in the spring looked totally different. Lunch was calamari, boiled peel-and-eat shrimp, squash, and a green rum drink at Hull’s Seafood in Ormond Beach.

We’ve also been to the farmers and flea market, a Christmas Candlelight Service followed by a five-minute reading by a medium, wrapping gifts, and more.

In my next post, I will introduce you to Cassadaga.
