DAY 668: Last Night At The Homestead
DAY 668: Last Night At The Homestead
Today I did the last of my laundry, washed my last batch of dishes in the lodge and packing up just about all the bus. The stacked boxes hold what I accumulated for the pagan festival. Thankfully, all but one fit in one bigger box that will go on the floor and hopefully keep the drawers from flying out between the chairs. Everything I once piled on the wicker chair will go on the bed. I’m down to the last few items, then all I have to do tomorrow is dump my grey water and shower. Then on my way to three beaches in three days! I lost my set of maps with my route all plotted out when the computer did a reboot for some unexplained reason, so I spent almost two hours researching and recreating them.
This time I stayed three weeks up by the road, pretty much off by myself and getting lots of sun. I think one of the rainstorms may have actually washed off my solar panels because the battery power has not been dropping at the end of the day as it once did. Part of me wishes I had put in triple the solar I did to run air conditioners and refrigerators and Instapots, but on the other hand, having only a bit more than the bare minimum, I’m much more aware of the natural world outside my windows and conscious of my choices. I keep giving thanks to the sun deities.
Thanks, too, to Brett and Renee for making me welcome at their Skoolie Homestead. The days just flew by.
