DAY 669: More Beach
Today I drove to Tybee Island and struggled to find a place to park (for $7.50) so I could walk over the dunes and out to the water. The breaking waves mingled with the sound of children playing. I kept moving my chair back as the tide came in, leaving only when the wind became cool, hard and constant. I drove to a boat launch in Savannah that is listed as being open 24/7 (after mistakenly driving to a private boat launch and holding up traffic turning around). I shared the sunset with an interesting gentleman named Ross whose “happy spot” I happened to park near. He said I looked like I came from a Grateful Dead concert.
The March wind is blowing hard enough to rock this 17,000+ pound bus. I hear it howling in the trees and on the river, along with the sound cars going by behind me.
Life is good.
