DAY 677: Another Night at the Lake
DAY 677: Another Night at the Lake
Men with boats began showing up this morning before daylight. That coupled with birds singing and Pye insisting I get up and attend to his needs meant I caught the sunrise.
I decided not to check in early at the skoolie fest, instead driving a mile down the road to spend a quiet day by the lake. Plans are to return to the boat launch for the night.
I stir fried four vegetables and cooked meat two ways while the sun was shining. Washing everything used less than a gallon. I probably used close to two washing purple out of my hair last night. Every drop of those 30 gallons under my bed is used with the consciousness of how precious they are. So, too, for drawing on the solar battery. I am grateful this way of life helps me appreciate these gifts I once took for granted.
The much-needed nap did not happen this afternoon. I had the incense burning and was deep into the sound of the waves against the shore on my left side, but then on my right, up near my head, I came some loud music I did not much like. And then a dog training exercise using a whistle started up at my feet. Still, I did enjoy being suspended in my happy place inside my happy place for an hour.
I attended to my finances that I didn’t do last night, but I never remembered the second thing, so it still isn’t done.
