DAY 703: The Bookcase Story
Merry meet again. Thank you for checking in.
I promised some stories from the magickal fair, so here is one about the bookcase.
From the time I agreed to be a vendor, I began to wonder how I could fit everything on my table and still have room for making mojo bags. Every time I’d start to wonder how I was going to manage, I felt a comforting presence assuring me all would be well, so I stopped trying to figure it out. About 5pm the night before, I was returning to the bus from food shopping and Siri took me a different route than I normally go, but I went with it. And there, on my side of the road, in an abandoned parking lot was a pile of trash. And in that pile was a wooden bookcase. Altho it’s a major route, there was no other vehicles on the road, and I was able to switch lanes and pull a U-turn and another, still without traffic, to get back to the parking lot. The bookcase was rough wood, but sturdy, and it fit in the borrowed car with about two inches to spare. I had exactly what I needed, and gratitude was pouring out. It couldn’t have been more perfect. It fit exactly in the space at the end of my table, and my long scarves and altar cloths came out of hiding to dress it up. I figured I would just return it to the pile on my way home that night, but … the universe had a better plan. The woman who was across from me all day agreed to stay late and read my cards. By the time we finished, all the other vendors had packed up and most had left. I asked her if by any chance she could use a bookcase. Turns out she refinishes pieces and yes, she’d like it, even tho she was going to have to return with a bigger car to get it.
It was all so perfect. Gratitude and delight washed over me. Knowing the universe had lined up everything for a bookcase made me realize again that the larger details of my life were also unfolding in the perfect time/space sequence, and there was nothing I need do but trust, be joyous, and give thanks. It still boggles my mind. The whole world, with its eight billion people, and the universe was taking care of a display case for me.
What synchronicity have you experienced?
