DAY 796: Marking the Moment

Today I signed dad into hospice care. After the long process was over, he called for a drink. After which I made tomato sandwiches with mayo on white bread. My sister grew the tomatoes from seeds our family saves every year, beginning the year my mother’s mother brought them with her from Sicily.

I then dealt with Verizon for a replacement hotspot, only to come home in the dark to find the bus door locked but push open, and Pyewacket gone. It took about 10 minutes of running all over, calling his name and shaking the treat container before I saw him running up the slope from the back yard. Bears walk back there.

Things aren’t going as planned. My sister and brother-in-law were not supposed to get covid and have to cancel their vacation, it wasn’t supposed to get this cold, and I wasn’t supposed to be so busy. But the moon is still a maiden, so there’s time to get to all the readings - just not yet.

Lots to sit with, and blessings to count.
