DAY 938: Today's Angels

DAY 938: Today’s Angels

This morning, Jennifer delivered a cup of coffee to me in the bus and then proceeded to wash my windows and my solar panels.

The second angel is pictured here. Forced to leave the Flagler Beach Park’s parking lot, I ended up just a bit south in a beautiful spot beside the road. The view was spectacular and beach access was easy. What was not easy was trying to get out of there. Crews had put down sugar sand, but didn’t pack it. It didn’t take long for my tires to dig holes that may as well have been mountains. That’s when this angel walked over and began digging out my wheels with her hands. I joined the effort with the plastic lid to a bin. She then directed me to back up, turn the wheel ever so slightly to the left, and step on the gas and don’t let up.

I did cruise around hoping to find a restaurant on a Friday night with a parking lot I could fit in, before heading for the nearest Publix. From there I moved on to Cracker Barrel where many have come to spend the night.

Saturday about 1:30ish, I am meeting up with Barbara, who drove her skoolie from Connecticut for the swarm again. Last year I got towed to the upper lot, and she pulled in late and parked next to me and came to my pity party where we shared a bottle of Prosecco. I am so looking forward to camping with her again. And others, too. And Sunday’s full moon. And my 69th birthday. And a diagnosing of my solar.

The nine days of peace, love, and skoolie is, for me, a time between the worlds. In fact, time is suspended. I love that I can just be. And while I may not blog much at all, I will be writing four columns, and reading and reviewing five books for the next edition. I may also try to post available items on the website.

Thank you for following along. I’ll check in soon.
