DAY 1002: Crash Avoided (& Happy Earth Day)

I am about 40 miles from my destination, parked in a Shop Rite lot. About three miles back, a fucking asshole pulled out in front of me and then, about 100 feet later, slammed on his brakes to let three cuties cross the road without being at a crosswalk. I had to slam on my air brakes, stopping just feet from his bumper, and everything slid forward. Between then and when I found a place to pull in, two other cars also pulled out in front of me, forcing me to brake. Karma is put back together now, and I am grateful nothing appears broken … except my pleasant mood.

This morning I spent a couple of happy hours with Joan, drinking coffee and carrying on like we’d known one another for years. We both like thunderstorms, the sound of rain on our roofs, essential oils, charms, herbal remedies, the moon, tequila, tie dye, and so much more. After a stop at CVS, that filled only one of my two prescriptions, I came out to see a cloud formation over the bus that looked like the phoenix rising. I took it as a sign.
