December 19: Collateral Damage

Aww ... no one guessed!! The answer (tentatively) is a bill of $1,341.06 and leaving Friday afternoon (assuming nothing else goes wrong).

Seems when the fan was replaced at the shop in Alma, the shroud was not bolted back in on the sides or the bottom. When it fell, it hit the fan, which stopped turning and thus started overheating. The fan clutch was also damaged. That part is $350 and comes in tomorrow morning. Everything is being readied for it, so it will only take a couple of hours to complete the job.

And yes, I intend to seek compensation for the total bill. I also want compensation for the two days I spent on the side of the road or in a repair facility. When you get to this chapter in life, each day is more valuable than the last.

Oh, but there is a bonus – I am getting my A/C drip problem looked at.
