March 30: Healing In Nature

The permaculture forest where I am boondocking has it all. Pretty much off grid. There are chickens, ducks, rabbits, rescued dogs and cats, flowers, all manner of trees and plants (many for sale in pots), a pond, a collection of eclectic shelters, and tall pines, surrounded by a fence of old tires. Lilly not only manages this alone by hand, she volunteers at the animal shelter and the soup kitchen, and feeds veterans.

I certainly needed grounding.

Took my first outdoor bucket shower with a gallon of water that warmed up nicely after a few hours on the dashboard. There was not complete privacy by the bus, so this tunic became my "bathing suit." It took another half a gallon to wash my dishes. No longer having a 30-gallon fresh and gray water tanks is keeping me mindful of every ounce.

I am staying in the moment to keep from stressing, and will be writing an ode to my hammock soon.
