April 23: Warm & Cozy Under the Full Moon

I arrived at my sister's yesterday afternoon and will be here until the weekend. We celebrated with a martini (hadn't had a good one since I left Connecticut in the November) and dinner. Getting back on the bus, I turned on the diesel heater and got an E-06 message. Something about the fan motor ... which had also been a recurring problem with the unit on Karma. The temperature was predicted to get down to 29 degrees here in Stockbridge, MA.

It was late, and there was no portable electric heater here or in the house. I posted a plea for help to the Skoolie Homestead community, and Angel Renee woke up Saint Brett who spent about two hours messaging back and forth to try a particular thing, and me sending back pictures asking "This?" ... then not being able to do it. Several tries and the last option was to pull the fuse and reconnect it. It took me several awkward attempts, but succeeded (after he had to explain something as basic as how to get the cover off the box). But it worked! The heater came on and it was soon toasty warm. It took another hour for my nerves to settle and the adrenaline to stop flowing. By then, moonlight was streaming in one of the windows I had not covered. (I haven't yet found coverings for them, so it was a collection of fabric, black-out curtains, a poncho, a bath towel, an altar cloth, and a blanket that were held up with magnets.)

When I thought I was going to have to tough it out, I turned the couch into a bed and topped it with throws and quilts. Since it was made, I decided to use the bed rather than the hammock, and have left it open because the next several nights will also be in the 20s. The best thing about having the bed was that after 33 nights, I was able to sleep with Pyewacket curled up beside me.

Today my sister strongly suggested I buy a heater just in case, and took me to Tractor Supply. But tonight the diesel heater came on without a glitch. So I'm sitting here on the bed, eating delicious mushroom soup she made and a grilled sandwich I made, looking at the altar prepped for a full pink moon ritual. The moon is in Scorpio, which is where the moon is in my natal chart, so it hits me extra hard. I plan to use as much of that energy as possible to release all that no longer serves me (ideas, habits, people, self-sabotaging thoughts, etc.) and prepare for changes sure to come.
