April 6: A Silent Sunrise
I woke up an hour before sunrise this morning, and surprised myself by making a cup of tea and sitting on the couch that faced directly east. It was silent except for a bit of wind and an occasional bird squawking overhead. I was transfixed by how the verbena rigida in my altar, and trying to discern what was dirt and what was the burned woodgrain pattern on my floor. It's only been 18 days; I'll learn. Meanwhile the sun, the angle of sight, and a few (sob) scratches will play enjoy playing tricks.
I learned yesterday that my transmission will arrive Monday. I am also getting new tires. Something that was said made it sound like I would also be on my way Monday. So just in case that's true, I se my natural self free, allowing my Libra rising to begin planning a route. I got as far as April 20. Well, today the universe threw me a curveball that is getting me to reroute to include a friend after it seemed I didn't want to make a two-day detour. I'm glad for the curveball that woke me up. Karmalita can drive 70% faster than Karma; friends make the world go round; and I didn't simplify my life to then rush through it. So today I am mapping again. I don't mind at all. It's my excuse for not starting my taxes.
Oh, another amazing thing I noticed this morning is that one of the white "pumpkin" seeds I planted on the equinox poked up nine days later. And now, eighteen days later there are six. (The stem on the first and tallest got bent so I am seeing if I can save it by propping it up.) I attribute the rapid growth to the rich potting soil Lilly gave me, along with the larger pot. I will be dividing and reporting next week.
In the mean time, I'd like to see how others have handled plants in their rigs, especially those that crawl and are usually grown outdoors. I was thinking of rigging up something on the dashboard, but I'm afraid anything would get burnt. The steps are too narrow and short. I'm left with the area from the far corner of the counter and letting it spread along the backsplash (that I will line or cover or something else to protect it).
It's about noon. About time for a nap.
