July 13: Temperature's Rising

Kim has transformed her bead room into a home for Pye and I, and for that I am most grateful. I just could not muster the emotional or physical energy to make the move tonight.

I need to run to the store in the morning for litter and a bit of food for me. Then I'll have help moving clothes, cat dishes, meds, shower supplies, computer, and other essentials into the house. Lastly I'll come back to scoop up Pye, back down my steps, walk up the driveway, up the stairs, and down the hall into the room without tripping or dropping him. I've held him tight to my chest, talking to him nonstop, for at least eight moves on and off the bus without issue, so I'm hoping to keep the streak alive. I believe stuffing him into a carrier like I did July 1 to get him to the vet, or catching him in a blanket would be traumatic for both of us, and I need him to trust me.

I was hoping not to have to relocate because I can't move him every other week when the weather is cooler or I want to travel. I actually thought I could manage to summer on Karmalita ... and if it weren't for his discomfort, I probably would somehow manage. It all came down to reminding myself that whatever I most resist I most need to do. Well, that and Mama Bear ready to whoop me.

Yesterday I was gifted this Karmalita-size lantern by Megan and it made me so happy. I am so blessed. When leaving the condo, I had to give up a large one that was very similar and much loved. Over and over before I sleep, I will be sending its light charged with positive energy along the route I will carry Pye in about twelve hours.
