February 17: Diesel Heater & Pagan Pages
Greetings from the Mississippi Gulf. Last night's host was hoping I'd leave early, so I set the alarm for 8:00 and woke up about every hour from midnight on, so I'm hoping to catch a nap before I continue on, crossing the bayou, rivers, and a lake to get to the funky eatery where I will spend tonight.
As you see, my choice was Texas. It was a struggle and a lot of flip flopping, but once I picked it, everything fell into place. Every request I made to stay at a Harvest Host was approved, which has never happened in five years. And the sun card I drew is about the biggest yes, awesome, happy card in the tarot deck, which was another confirmation. The 7 of Cups is sometimes called the wish card because you pretty much can't go wrong, every option is good, you just need to choose something already. I survived one night at 35 degrees. Tonight is forecast to drop to 44, and the nights after that: 40, 44, and 23 on Thursday in Hammond, LA ... and nights staying around freezing for several more days. I am depending on my diesel heater to continue working as well as it did last night.
I got a box of books and decks from Jennifer to edit for Pagan Pages. First is the "Heal Yourself Oracle," then "Living Wands of the Druids." I also made a rattle that I will be the next witchcraft column.
But first, a nap beside Mississippi Gulf while the sun keeps Karmalita warm.
