March 28: Happy Hostess
Today I hosted breakfast and dinner for my camping mates. It's great hanging out with people who like to cook ... something I got tired of doing quite a while ago. All I did was make coffee, donate ingredients, open a bottle of wine, and cut some cheese. The food was as good as the conversation and Pye was quiet and polite. We're all going into town tomorrow.
Tonight we are keeping an eye on the last part of storms that, for the most part, have been missing us. One more foot-and-a-half high tide at 4am to watch out for. Tomorrow we plan to go into town for a shower and supplies, make some car repairs, and relocate to slightly higher ground farther down the beach.
Oh, the beach. It is mesmerizing. The wind and the waves are sapping me of motivation to tackle my to do list, which keeps getting longer ... but a few will get checked off tomorrow. The dark moon is no doubt contributing its energy as well.
The card I pulled for today has three white ducks hunkered down by the water, waiting for the fog to lift. That was us this morning! So many things have fallen into place since I got here, and the rainbow in the upper left corner of the card is another sign I am divinely guided and protected.
