April 15: Having Fun
Brenda and I are getting better at having fun. We've boondocked at a winery, Cracker Barrel, a brewery, Walmart and Paris. Paris, Texas, which is home to a scaled down version of the Eiffel Tower with a red cowboy hat on top.
I am amazed that Pyewacket has not objected to her presence on Karmalita. In fact, I think he is delighted to position himself on the steps, willing to move only when treats are tossed towards the back of the bus to allow her to board or depart.
It was seeming like the state went on forever and we were never going to get out of Texas. (I have no idea what this sign means.) But we did, and I even got a parting gift – a warning for doing 39 in a 30 mph zone ... traveling four blocks from the post office in a tiny town back onto the highway for the last 20 miles or so. Now Brenda was right behind me, going the same speed, but she was not stopped. This makes the first time I've been stopped in Karmalita; I was stopped once in Karma.
Tomorrow we travel a short distance to a huge field in the middle of nowhere. We’ll stay several nights to relax, catch up on things, and plot where we are going next, all the while monitoring the weather and skirting around twisty mountain roads.
I took a screen shot of Witches' Gunpowder months ago, and finally on Saturday's full moon, I mixed it up. Except I forgot the salt, yet it did what it promised to do ... add oomph, power, or speed to spells. Make that an and! I had been giving thanks for a particular blessing on its way for about a month, and bang – much more than I'd been offering gratitude for landed in my lap from an unexpected source. I know there may be logical explanations, but I choose to believe magick was involved.
