Day 43: Moving On

Merry meet. Today I moved from my comfortable nest in Darlington, SC – after parking next to a dear sister/friend/daughter for three weeks – and drove to a not-too-far-away winery to make tomorrow’s trip only 101 miles. It poured last night, all day today, and it will continue raining tonight and into tomorrow. I keep reminding myself, “I’m a water witch.” Yet, I don’t feel compelled to put out my bowl to collect some of this rain for use in ritual. Since croning, I have related more to earth, but the mud outside and all over my shoes is not calling to me, either. I have a lot of reading and writing I need to be doing, and Yule cards to address, yet I just find myself trying to figure out if I can cross the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge 150 feet above the Cooper River in Charleston, SC without a panic attack. At 2.5 miles, it’s the third longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere. I don’t like bridges. I don’t like heights. But I also don’t like adding more than an hour to my driving to try to avoid it. I’m checking out other options.
For a couple of hours, I thought I had permission to boondock at the fort on Sullivan’s Island so I could spend a day exploring the tiny town, but a recent call from a supervioor cancelled that. There’s a KOA campground up the road from it, but I’m saving my money for when campgrounds are my only option (from Yule to the New Year) until I manifest places to nest in Florida. On a beach.
Florida is where I hope to meet up with Rebecca Rose, a sister also traveling on wheels. She is starting an online group for those exploring a pagan path. (Here: https://www.rebeccaroseguidance.com/spiral-within). You can also just sign up for her newsletter and get a free e-book! I did. I am supporting her efforts to form the virtual coven by joining it … making it the third in “witch” we’ll both be in together. To be honest, that was another in a long string of work avoidance techniques I’ve employed all week. Her “Which pagan Holiday Are You” quiz was another. I took it and came up with Yule. I would have guessed Samhain or Imbolc. See what one you are at https://www.rebeccaroseguidance.com/pagan-holiday-quiz.
I just can’t get into the book I’m reviewing for PaganPages.org and feel jammed up. I am determined to light a candle in the now darkness and force myself to do it so I can move on to columns and reviews I will enjoy more. I’ve got a deadline that’s catching up to me fast.
Oh, but first, let me tell those of you near Savannah, I will be giving free Reiki sessions at Cosmic Corner Thursday, December 19 from 12:30-4:30. You can sign up here https://www.facebook.com/events/521075845150801/
And now, I have a few phone calls to make …
Merry part. And merry meet again.
PS A camper just pulled into the same muddy lot. Another work avoidance technique! Blessed be.
