Day 59: My People
I left the campground in the rain (after getting the critter out), so the windshield was leaking again. Stopped at Walmart to buy the oil this bus loves to drink, but I left my lights on … so I waited almost an hour for AAA to give me a jump. While I was waiting, I renewed my membership, bumping it up $39 to double the towing distance to 200 miles and get one battery a year if needed.
Driving the last leg, I felt like I was coming home with all the trees, a “PAVEMENT ENDS” sign, and a long sand road with some of the worse potholes ever, and a gate – not all that different from New Hampshire that I left before it snowed. Pulling onto the grounds, I was greeted by a wonderful group of people in various stages of skoolie building and all manners of living. There are also tents, RVs, a tiny house and a large house, children, dogs, a horse, an outdoor shower, a bathroom and a salt water pool. Everyone helps everyone. I have electricity. I’m going to stay until 2020. I am soooo happy.
