DAY 260: What I Learned Today

> If you wash your hair with cold water in the morning, it wakes you up (and makes you decide you don’t really need a shower).

> I figured out how to fix my prescription sunglasses after I sat on them (never felt them) and broke off an arm. However, it fell off again about 20 minutes later. Will seek professional help … or find my Gorilla Glue.

> Diesel gas prices ranged from $2.49 to $2.09 in a five-mile stretch. I filled up at $2.09.

> Blessings come in many forms. I did about 160 miles today and near the end of the trip, turned into a Hardees for a vegetarian burger. Blessing #1: The overhangs were high enough my bus fit under them. Blessing #2: Staff couldn’t hear me screaming my order over the sound of the bus idling. By the time I pulled into a parking lot, I got Blessing #3: Enough self-control to eat healthy from my fridge.

> When you see pumpkins, mums and pansies for sale at the same place at the same time, you know you’re no longer in New England.

> I need to look for a place to pull in for the night before the sun starts setting and I feel myself getting tired.

> The warmer it is (65 this evening and predicted to stay that way the entire night), the faster I run through my battery power. Tonight it was 9pm - 90 minutes earlier than my previous record. Made me wish I had found the energy to get ice for the fridge.
