Day 206: Cemeteries
I have always been drawn to cemeteries. I like the quiet, the old trees, the monuments. Rarely have I felt a restless spirit. Rather there is a sense of peace. I have been exploring cemeteries while in Connecticut. Today was Cedar Hill in Hartford. This is Mark Howard’s pink granite pyramid, rich with symbolism. The inverted torches signify life extinguished; the three steps symbolize the Holy Trinity; the butterflies represent resurrection while the angel is waiting to lead the deceased through the gates of heaven. There are so many stories, but rather than words, you will find dozens more photos from this and two other cemeteries on my Facebook page.
