Day 208: Prepping to Leave CT

I got my crown today! And last night I finished writing out five pages of directions to get me from East Windsor CT to Dorchester NH with an overnight in West Chesterfield, NH. (If you’re in the area, we might be able to meet up!) There is no way I can drive 180 New England miles in one day. Not when my top speed is 43mph, keeping me off highways. Apple Maps and the Garmin have taken me strange ways - and they rarely agree - so I often plot a route using Google maps and write it out in BIG letters so I can see them without my reading glasses. I’ll use the phone as a backup, even though I cannot hear it speak over the noise of the engine. The Garmin I can hear, but it does not prop up as easily.

I checked my fluids, adding oil and power steering fluid this afternoon. I’ll get gas tomorrow. Tonight I still have at least an hour’s worth of putting away, securing and packing up to do. It’s finally cool enough to move without sweating. I don’t expect I’ll be so lucky the next two days when the forecast is hotter the farther north I go.
