DAY 448: The stars aligned

DAY 449: The stars aligned

I don’t believe in coincidences, so I am just blown way when I see a chain of events that happen to get to the desired result.

Today, for instance. I had only two of the three procedures done at the dentist today. That meant I had time to kill before my massage appointment. That lured me to the Dunkin’ across the street for a breakfast sandwich. Well, seems they couldn’t cook anything. That sent me heading toward the massage by a different route to get to a Dunkin’. You know how it is: You get a taste for something and nothing else will do. No waiting. Had my order in a flash. Exiting, I decided to go straight across to the parking lot of what was one of my top three consignment shops when I was living in Connecticut and in need of work clothes. My favorite parking space opposite the door was open and I pulled in, all the while asking myself, “What the hell are you doing?” I had no intention of shopping. I just wanted to eat my sandwich and get some water past my novocaine-infused lip. So I carefully ate my sandwich, dribbled some water down the front of me and reached to turn on the car – but something keeps telling me to go in. But I don’t want to go in. I don’t want to even look at the jewelry. But go in I do. And before the door had even closed behind me, happy eyes above a mask dance as a woman commented on my purple hair. I have a soft spot for anyone who says something about my hair, even if they joke about it (politely), so I walked over and began a conversation, It turns out she was someone I was supposed to tell about an event this weekend.

When I see how the universe attends to the smallest of details my mind explodes. Divine intervention is freaking awesome. Even though another route would have gotten me to my massage, I would have passed the consignment shop on my way home. But I would not have wanted a sandwich and the novocaine had worn off. My mouth was throbbing. Nothing could have gotten me into that store.

Nothing to turn into a Disney movie, but still, all the stars aligned and deserved to be noticed,
