DAY 836: Election Night

I can’t help myself; I am watching election returns. Voting began just after a full moon total eclipse on the first day of the pagan lunar new year. I did a tarot spread, picking cards

Five of us watched the eclipse this morning as the earth’s shadow moved across the moon and it took on a shade of red. During the 90 or so minutes it was in the dark, it dipped behind the trees. Before I could go to sleep, I had to get help to get back into Karma by way of my back door. At 4am, Pye managed to get off the bus twice in ten minutes with ease, despite the barriers I put on the stairs before wedging my camp chair against the door from the outside. I got pissed and after getting him back on, I slammed the door behind him. That popped the lever, making the door nearly impossible to open. So for the second time in seventeen days, the back door not being locked was a blessing.

The “Charmed Ladies of the Homestead” held Part II of our Samhain ritual yesterday. Back on the bus, I sat on the step and burned the bits and pieces of sacred objects in my cauldron, creating enough smoke to set off the fire alarm. Then I lit my Baba Yaga candle and asked for her help in getting through the dark months.

My focus now turns to cleaning the bus, writing for Pagan Pages, getting a pedicure, and learning to make kombucha.
