DAY 868: Herbal Remedies

Thanks to Jennifer Walenski, I have a large, new collection natural remedies to help keep me away from as many pharmaceuticals as possible. She, her husband, two children, four(?) dogs, and oodles of cats left Michigan in their skoolie and arrived here recently to winter at the homestead. Her collection of plant-based remedies is amazing. (Email creeksideherbs@gmail.com.) All are made from natural ingredients she harvested from her land - some grown, some foraged - on 40 acres bordered on three sides by state forests. A hedge witch if I ever did meet one. The term was new to her, but fortunately, not offensive. Her daughter is interested in tarot and learning more about the Craft. I was able to pass on cards, cauldrons, journals, a broom, chalices, a dragon, and books, making more room on my bus. Today I dumped out my big box of charms the remaining grapevine wreaths on the table in the lodge and, and there were four of us making protection charms. And I gave away enough charms that I can now close the lid on the box … if I don’t try to put the bells in.

I continue to prepare Karma for travel, and the way the boxes are now situated, I have little room to sit in front of the computer. My new laptop arrived, but it will be weeks before I get it up and running. Same with the Alexia I put back in its box without getting it to work.

I must go. I have about 20 hours to get out the first batch of Yule cards, and finish putting everything in its place. I am also hoping to precook some meals and get in as much visiting as possible.

My next post will be from Florida. I hope you’ll come along for the ride.
