Day 724: This and That
Greetings. I am enjoying my view of the sunset over the top of the monitor … and the longer days … when they’re not in the 90s. Seems I am getting post-menopausal hot flashes. Joy! Joy! I didn’t even know it was a thing until my annual wellness appointment today.
I have found a variety of jewelry boxes, wooden chests, and assorted coffers to house travel alters and themed collections including Buddha and dragons. I’ve also been assembling items to put in them. This is what didn’t fit in the five boxes already full. Tomorrow I was going to start preparing for a magickal fair next month, only to find out there is no room to vend from the bus, and I don’t have a pop-up or tables, or know anyone who does, and if I did, I probably couldn’t manage them on my own. So, once again, it appears the universe has something else in mind for my highest good and greatest joy with harm to none.
I had to blow a deadline, but I’ve just about finished a three-parter for Pagan Pages. I got to review “Womanrunes” by Molly Remer. It’s a book and a deck of cards with the 41 symbols. I have used the Viking runes over the years and found them to be accurate. The only thing is, the lines mean nothing to me and I don’t memorize well. The Womanrunes are so much easier to understand because they are things I’m familiar with, so they speak to me. Cauldron. Sun. Dancing Woman. The Great Wheel. Spiral. Heart. Flame. Dark Moon. Each card has few key words and the book offers pages more insights. The other deck is of 100 cards to provide a daily devotional practice that’s simple, easy, quick, nourishing, and joyful. It’s called #30 Days of Goddess, and it’s great, too. The third part was an interview with their creator, who offers so much through Brigid’s Grove — with the basics all free. Check it out!
If you remember back to February and my days in Tampa and the skoolie swarm, you might remember Sha Gi. She began making Zodiac jars, and I bought the first two. One is Pisces Sun and the other is Scorpio Moon. They immediately went on my altar, where they feel right at home. Check out her Facebook page, Gypsy_Sha, that will be up in a couple of days.
