DAY 771: Covid Day 11 and Officer Friendly
I was awakened quite early this morning by an officer telling me it’s illegal to park in this spot by the bridge overnight, and suggested I go to Walmart where overnight parking is allowed. He was quite nice, first checking on me to be sure I was alive and OK, and later asking if there was anything he could do. It’s all on feed from his body cam.
I usually wait until everyone leaves around 6:30pm to get in the river and cool off, but today it will be earlier or not at all. It’s another 91-degree day (with no a/c), to be followed by two days of rain, clouds and little sun (for limited solar power) — neither set of conditions being particularly easy to deal with, especially with Covid and this intense fatigue which persists along with a horrible sounding cough despite it being productive in breaking up mucus. But I am eternally grateful for Karma, because I can’t begin to imagine where I would be living without her. Although I packed for a five-day trip that has already stretched to seventeen, I am fairly well stocked except for clothes and water for washing.
I placed another order with Walmart that I will get when I move there this evening, and there are prescriptions to pick up about a mile down the road from there. Beyond basic care, I’m not doing much else, except marvel at how well aligned my physical condition is with where I am spiritually. Both in a holding pattern … with no end in sight. Another opportunity to practice patience, trust, and self-care.
