DAY 1021: Days Fly By
Since my last post, the days have been passing quickly despite doing pretty much nothing most of my waking hours. While house and dog sitting, I met up with Linn twice, both times for food, conversation, and much needed time at the beach. I got to Kim’s front yard in time for the Kentucky Derby at The Pub. We’ve had wine o’clock, watched sunsets, and ate dinner together. Yesterday I went out to shop for food, ice packs to replace containers of water that replaced gallon zip-lock bags in the cooler, and tried to find tops at a thrift store. I cleared boxes out of the bus, cooked easy meals, and showered. I have made a few calls and texted several people. Mostly I have sat in the hammock chair, watched the sun travel across the sky, and gone to bed early, happy to again have Pye curl up with me.
Arranging items on my altar a few days ago, I heard myself say, “I love my life,” which surprised the hell out of me. After that I further surprised myself by deciding I want a short skoolie. Brett agreed to convert one for me. Today, for the first time in months, I put purple color depositing conditioner in my hair.
I think I’ve turned a corner.
