October 3: 200 Miles & Changing Plans
Yesterday, I left this place that I called home for the summer and traveled about 100 miles north and east to visit two friends (who happen to be witches) – PJ and Leandra. Then today I traveled west and slightly south a bit more than 100 miles to spend the evening with my sister, Barbara, and my brother-in-law, Jim. We celebrated with martinis before dining on the keto lasagna (thick sliced turkey replacing noodles ... plus lots of other wonderful ingredients) she made especially for me.
Tomorrow it's north again for a bit before crossing the Hudson and driving south 200 highway miles to New Jersey where I will spend the night at a brewery. Saturday I visit Jennifer, editor of PaganPages.org, north of Philly and Sunday it’s on to a casino in West Virginia to see a woman I met at the skoolie homestead a few years ago. After that I'm back to flying by the seat of my pants because the following week I planned to spend at a national forest in Asheville, NC with friends no longer appears possible.
PS The third planting of my magickal Samhain pumpkin seeds yielded two surviving plants that are starting to flower. If one plant happens to be male and the other female, and cross-pollination takes, there's still a chance I will have another tiny white pumpkin when celebrating this Samhain.
