November 16: Hecate's Night
If I am working with a goddess, chances are it's Hecate. Tonight is when she is honored with festivals. I am kicking myself because I was at the crossroads three times in the last three days and forgot to get some dirt. I do have black candles, keys, bones, garlic, moonstone, labradorite, and red wine.
I set it up to take this photo, but now I am about to change into ritual garb – something I don't think I've done once this year. (It's too cold to be skyclad.) I wrote this chant:
Hecate, goddess of the night.
Guide me with your ancient light
Along the mystic moonlit path
Shield me from harm and wrath
Unveil the secrets old and deep
From silent shadows where they sleep
Guardian of crossroads, holder of the keys
Be with me tonight to set my magic free.
and opened a bottle of wine.
One of the things I did last night under the full moon was to work with the dragons on my bus. For a month now, I've been putting offerings in a Dollar Tree treasure chest. I took them out one by one to let us all admire them.
Next will be getting ready for Tuesday's huge cosmic astrological shift as Pluto enters Aquarius where it will remain until March 8, 2024.
According to Cafe Astrology .com, "While Pluto is in Aquarius, we take social structures and politics especially seriously, and we seek major reform in these areas. Unusual, intense, or dramatic happenings are possible with friends and networks.
During this long-term cycle, we are likely to confront issues of control and power related to individuality, equality, friendships, and group associations. We can be on a quest to distinguish ourselves for our progressiveness, scientific minds, ideals, humanitarianism, or unique qualities. It’s also a time when we seek to change and overhaul society through science, inventions, and the mind/ideas."
Blessings.
