November 21: Cool Beans and Tentative Plans

Brett just installed my little reconditioned air conditioner in the top frame of the emergency window I figured I would never be crawling out (given there are four other exits). I've been dreaming of this since temperatures forced Pye and I off the bus this summer. The thought is I can run it when the sun is out and my batteries are at least close to full, or if I am plugged into shore power. Since it blows the cold air out the top that will be about three inches below the new cabinet, Brett is looking into adding a vent to help direct the air into the living area.

It's looking like I'll be here until the first week in December when I will get to the mechanic who put in my transmission so he can get the dash air conditioner working again (third time it's being addressed) and fix whatever keeps shutting of the nozzle when I'm trying to pump fuel. Oh, and I need the oil and filter changed. Maybe more.

While just about everyone at the homestead will be at a skoolie gathering in Florida beginning December 6, I will go further south to visit friends I didn't see when I was there in the spring. I will spend time at "home" in Cassadaga, at my beloved Avalon State Beach, and if it all falls together, I could visit two high school friends, a "daughter" of mine, and some nomadic skoolie friends. All that will determine if I make it to Arizona for Yule. Or Christmas. Or New Years. Or for La Befana's arrival on Epiphany Eve.
