March 28: Chillin’ With A/C

It was 6pm when I left the garage with the compressor replaced and the vents-not-working problem diagnosed and solved. Every part of the dash was off for one or the other. Fluids checked. Still trying to get my mirrors right.

I drove about an hour and am spending the night at a Love’s. All the other campers that were here left as did others arriving after me. I wonder what they know that I don’t. I called and overnight parking is allowed.

I am pleased with how easily Karmalita drives. And at 55mph!! Heat, A/C, a signal that shuts itself off when I turn, and cup holders are among the amenities new to me.

This is my tenth night in her and it feels like home. I am liking the couch and loving the hammock.

Tomorrow I drive another hour to get my registration, gather some supplies, find a planet fitness, and begin my 1,500-mile route to my sister’s in Stockbridge.
