September 22: Merry Mabon

Today I celebrated the second harvest eating pasta with sauce made by my cousin, Christine, from "Little Gram's" tomatoes grown by her son in Vermont. I shared my jar with two relatives. It's very special to our family. My sister, and uncle, and another cousin also make it. There were other good foods, including Carmalita cookies I made to honor the one year anniversary of purchasing Karmalita. On the way home, I visited my parents graves. I was also excited to find the stand just down the street from the bus still had a bouquet of flowers for sale. The best part is that it included yellow Jerusalem artichokes. It's been a long-time tradition to have them on my Mabon altar.

Although today marks essentially equal day and night, I don't feel balanced. I feel off, no doubt from the carbohydrates I consumed as much as the resistance I have toward leaving in just more than a week … and all the work that entails.
