February 20: Soaking Up The Sun
I am soaking up the last hour of sunlight that has warmed the bus some ... and the heater's been on last night and all day today ... because tonight it will get down to 25 degrees ... a whole two degrees warmer than last night. Even with extra blankets on windows II could barely keep warm. Thankfully there are no high winds rocking my bus tonight, and truck noise has been replaced with the sound of trains.
I just spent about an hour, and added an hour to my route tomorrow. It was the only way to cross the Mississippi on a 4.5-mile bridge rather than one 18 miles long. I did good yesterday over rivers and bayou, but it didn't add to my confidence, it subtracted from my reserves.
I did a cord cutting that involved candles and twine, but the results were not impressive. I ended up burning the string just flopped to one side of the candles just to be done with it.
Today I toured the Tangipahoa African American Heritage Museum and Veterans Archives. I was amazed at all the inventions made by African Americans, including the hydraulic shock absorber, the traffic signal, the player piano, the golf tee, the folding chair, the elevator, the Super Soaker, the wrench ... and so much more, like Michael Jackson's Anti-Gravity Shoes. Murals lined the long hallway with rooms dedicated to art, music, politics, etc. Just one way to celebrate Black History Month.
I need to get back to the deck I am reviewing for Pagan Pages ... and to finish writing up the spell for it too.
